As part of the Government of Grenada’s Cost of Living Assistance Programme, Cabinet introduced 2 VAT-Free Shopping Days per month across August, September, and October.

Schedule & Dates

  • August 2026: Friday, 28 August & Saturday, 29 August 2026

  • September 2026: Dates to be confirmed by the Ministry of Finance / Inland Revenue Division.

  • October 2026: Dates to be confirmed by the Ministry of Finance / Inland Revenue Division.

Eligible Items

During these VAT-free periods, participating businesses will sell qualifying goods as zero-rated supplies (0% VAT). Covered categories include:

  • Groceries and essential food items

  • School supplies, books, and uniforms/clothing

  • Household goods, appliances, and electronics

  • Hardware items and building supplies

Key Things to Know

  • Participating Merchants: Only approved, VAT-registered, and tax-compliant businesses are permitted to offer zero-rated sales. The Inland Revenue Division (IRD) publishes an official preliminary list of participating businesses prior to each tax-free period which can be viewed on Finance Grenada.

 

Applies to retail stores across Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique.
