Following Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell’s national address announcing November 5, 2026, as the date for Grenada’s general election, Opposition Leader Emmalin Pierre, representing the main opposition New National Party (NNP), delivered a national response calling on Grenadians to embrace a vision of economic renewal and accountable governance.
Addressing the tri-island nation, Pierre declared that the NNP is fully mobilized and ready for the upcoming poll. Emphasizing the need for a clear contrast in policy and vision, she formally challenged Prime Minister Mitchell to a live, national debate ahead of Election Day, framing it as an essential platform for voters to evaluate the competing plans for the country's future.
Pierre’s address focused heavily on socio-economic priorities, promising new measures aimed at easing the cost of living, driving job creation, expanding housing access, and reforming local industries. She urged citizens across Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique to actively participate in the democratic process as Nomination Day approaches on October 15.
