A Protection Order is a legally binding document issued by a Magistrate's Court that prohibits an individual (the respondent) from engaging in abusive or threatening behavior.
It provides legal protections, including instructing the abuser to:
Stop committing acts of domestic, physical, verbal, or psychological abuse.
Stay away from the victim's residence, workplace, or school.
Refrain from contacting or threatening the victim and affected family members.
Cease any form of harassment or indirect intimidation through third parties.
