Grenada’s Ministry of Agriculture, in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), has officially launched its slate of events for World Food Day 2026, running from October 4 to October 16, 2026.
Organized under the tagline "Come Celebrate Food • Farmers • Future" and the overarching theme "Innovate Today. Nourish Tomorrow".
The days of events features a diverse calendar of public engagements, youth initiatives, and agricultural showcases:
Wednesday, October 7 – Fruitastic Wednesday: Nationwide fruit promotion across agricultural districts, schools, public/private entities, and the Ministerial Complex.
Friday, October 9 – Friendly Chef Competition: Culinary contest hosted at Westerhall Secondary School, St. David, highlighting Sea Moss as the featured ingredient.
Monday, October 12 – Seedling Distribution: Distribution of plant seedlings across schools, distribution points, agricultural districts, and the Ministerial Complex.
Wednesday, October 14 – Youth Panel Discussion: Hosted at the National Stadium focusing on the theme "From Farm to Future: Growing, Innovating and Creating with Musa Crops".
Friday, October 16 – Grand Exhibition & Culture Show: Culminating main event at Cuthbert Peters Park, Gouyave, St. John, starting at 10:00 AM.
A supplementary 4-H School Competition will also form part of the celebrations, with specific dates to be announced.
